Recently, many dairy products, like Rizo-López Foods, have been called back because of the Listeria outbreak. Recently, federal officials confessed this week that since 2014, almost 26 people have gotten sick.

How many products are linked to the contamination of Listeria?

Fresco and Cotija cheese are the only two types of products that they’re thinking of removing from the market because there are chances of contamination by Listeria.

How many people have been affected till now?

As of now, 23 were hospitalized, and 2 died.

Newborn babies: Newborns may face issues because of an immature immune system. It is not recommended to give foods that may contain Listeria.

Individuals have lower immune systems. An individual undergoing chemotherapy or having HIV/AIDS has a high potential chances of getting affected by listeria.

Maintain good hygiene: Before and after the preparation of food, contact with animals, and use of the washroom, it is important to wash your hands with a handwash solution to avoid any risk.

Avoid recalled foods: As we mentioned above, it is recommended to avoid dairy products from these brands due to the potential risk of listeria.

Clean the affected area. Unintentionally, if you bought one of the products, it’s better to clean the refrigerator with a suitable cleaner.
